WELCOME TO THE RESORT VILLAGE OF COCHIN

The Resort Village of Cochin is a friendly community located 36 kilometres north of the Battlefords on Highway 4 North.  It is nestled between two beautiful prairie lakes, Murray Lake and Jackfish Lake.  This location makes Cochin a great vacation spot as well as a fantastic place to live. Residents and visitors can enjoy the sun on the beach, take a refreshing swim in the lake, play tennis or beach volleyball, visit the playgrounds, fish, waterski, wakeboard or tube behind a boat, or take in a round of golf at one of the great golf courses nearby.  Visit one of the local campgrounds, rent a cottage, stay at a local bed and breakfast, or reserve your stay at Jackfish Lodge located within the Battlefords Provincial Park. We have the most spectacular sunsets in the world!

The population of the village grows to about 2500 during the summer months although more residents are living here year round due to the easy commute to North Battleford, Battleford, , Saskatoon, Meadow Lake and Lloydminster.  The resort village is just a short commute of 20 minutes to the Battlefords, 1.5 hours to Saskatoon, and 4 hours to Edmonton.

A LIGHTHOUSE in Saskatchewan!!  The only lighthouse in Saskatchewan is at the north end of the village of Cochin.  It was built in 1988 on the top of Pirot Hill. From here visitors have a spectacular view of both Jackfish and Murray Lakes. The lighthouse is 11.5 meters tall (38 ft). There are 153 steps to the top for a fabulous view of both the townsite and the lakes. The rotating beacon (light) can be seen for miles. The photo above is by David McLennan, The Encyclopedia of Saskatchewan. This photo has been used for our website with permission from David McLennan.

LOOKING FOR AN ADRENALINE RUSH? Have you ever considered doing something that you know would not only change the way people look at you, but also change the way you look and feel about yourself?  If so then I challenge you, take the step and become a volunteer firefighter.
It’s not a huge commitment but the rewards are great when you see what a difference you make in your community.  We provide paid training sessions twice a month; and you will be compensated monetarily for all the calls you respond to.  Equipment and gear are provided to all the fire fighters.
Stop by or call the Village office 386-2333 or call Christine 386-2366 and ask how you can join our team.
