Doreen Griffiths grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan. She now resides at Metinota Beach. Doreen is married to Keith. They have 3 daughters, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Doreen prefers to work in watercolours that feature the prairie scenery and landscapes.

Doreen began her painting as a result of the encouragement of her step-mother. Lessons in Apache, Arizona also helped her to feel more confident.
